Indrajaw
Scientific Name: Wrightia Tinctoria / Holarrhena Antidysenterca / Holarrhena Pubescens
Other Common Names: (a) Kura (b) Korsak (c) Indrajao
Usage: Inderjaw is native of India, central and southern Africa, and some parts of China. These seeds are sold for Ayurvedic medicine in India. There are two variants of Inderjaw:
– Inderjaw Kadwa (bitter), i.e. Holarrhena Antidysenterica (syn. Holarrhena Pubescens)
It is widely used in Indian medicine for treating diseases viz. diarrhea, amoebic dysentery, liver disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, and bleeding piles.
– Inderjaw Meetha (sweet) i.e Wrightia Antidysenterica or Wrightia Tinctoria
It is used for treating skin disorder like psoriasis.
