Support to Economically Weaker Section
Minor forest products are not recognized as a regular line of business, but the possibilities are endless here. These products have high economic importance, and there is a huge scope in collecting, storing, processing and marketing these products. It is also imperative to mention here that many of the economically important species are not cultivated by farmers, but grow naturally for which Palamau region offers ideal climatic conditions. One change that the endeavors of M/s JJP has brought about is that now local villagers are also aware of the importance of these forests produces, which were erstwhile of no use to them. They collect them cautiously without causing any damage, and bring them to the market. This has also opened new employment opportunities to these rural villagers.
